Some big changes are in the process at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom! The ‘happiest place on earth’ is becoming even happier with their new additions expected to open in December 2012.
Added to Disneyworld in 1971, Fantasyland was built to represent a vast courtyard to Cinderella’s castle. It was announced in 2009 that Fantasyland would begin expanding and gradually open by 2013, making it the biggest extension in the park’s history. So what is on the agenda for all the new and exciting attractions?
In the Enchanted Forest, immerse yourself into the scenes of The Little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast. Dive into Ariel’s world to experience the musical spectacular, Under the Sea- Journey of the Little Mermaid. Incredible effects and classic songs from the movie will provide the backdrop for this all-new attraction below the waves!
You know the fairy-tale-like castle on top of a hill in Beauty and the Beast? Well, watch as children’s eyes light up as they walk into Belle’s world, where they can feel like they just stepped into the setting of the movie. In the beautiful ballroom, gallery and mysterious “West Wing” of the castle, the Be Our Guest Restaurant features a magnificent facility for an elegant dining experience. Guests can also take a stroll through Belle’s village where you will find Gaston’s Tavern.
Take a change of scenery and go on a ride through a mine where “a million diamonds shine.” Featuring first-of-its kind technology, the vehicles in this roller coaster rock back and forth, responding to every turn. Animated figures of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and music from the classic Disney film will add to all the fun!
Aurora, Cinderella, and other Disney Princesses will welcome you to their new home in Princess Fairytale Hall. This stylish royal court will stand where Snow White’s Scary Adventure ride stands today.
Are you excited yet? This is only a portion of all the wonderful extensions to Disney World coming soon!
