Unleashed in 1998, Disney’s latest theme park, Animal Kingdom®, puts visitors face-to-face with more than 1700 diverse animals. Spread across 500 acres of stunning landscape, Animal Kingdom offers a wonderfully adventurous day out for little and big explorers alike.

Start your Animal Kingdom® adventure at Oasis. Head down the tropical garden pathways and you’ll discover anteaters, wallabies and more in their natural habitats. As you continue through to Discovery Island, The Tree of Life appears. The park’s perennial icon, the Tree of Life is a Disney work of art. At 145ft tall, the artificial tree bears the hand-carvings of than 300 animals on its trunk, while the tree’s base doubles as an interactive screen for the 4D film inspired by A Bug’s Life, It’s Tough to Be a Bug.

Go on safari in Animal Kingdom’s Africa zone, where you’ll venture out and witness the plains’ greatest animals go about their business. Continue to the wild world of Asia where you can journey through River Rapids and take a Maharajah Jungle Trek through forests, home to komodo dragons and tigers. Then, head high to the Himalayas, riding the Expedition Everest rollercoaster through the region and avoiding the infamous Yeti on the way!

A complete departure from the other sects of Animal Kingdom, Dinoland USA celebrates the creatures that came before us, with rides and attractions that revel in their time on earth. As you head into Dinoland via the OldenGate Bridge, be sure to look up; above the bridge is a 50ft Brachiosaurus skeleton! Be sure to catch the animals that have survived the centuries including crocodiles and tortoises at the Theatre in the Wild and don’t miss the epic DINOSAUR exhibition either. 

Wildlife enthusiasts should hop aboard the Wildlife Express Train to Rafiki’s Planet Watch. As the hub for Disney’s wildlife protection and conservation projects, Rafiki also shows visitors how the animals here are cared for, treated and looked after each and every day in the park.

From lions, tigers and bears (oh my!), to everything in between, you’ll see all of nature’s finest run wild at Animal Kingdom®.
